The Pinnacle of American Go
It doesn't get any better than this: hundreds of the nation's most dedicated Go players, gathered in one place for a week of intense games and discussion.
Major tournaments include the week-long US Open, the North American Ing Master's Championship, and the Redmond Cup youth championship. There's also 9x9, 13x13, Pair Go, Crazy Go, Lightning Go, Midnight Madness, and more.
Over a dozen professional players from around the world will offer lectures, game reviews, private lessons, and simultaneous games.

Beauty On and Off the Board
Located in the scenic Willamette Valley, Portland is a wondrously walkable city. Portland State University (the Congress venue) is in the heart of the downtown area, with a wide variety of shopping and dining options within walking distance. It's a short ride on Portland's award-winning transit system to attractions such as the Portland Art Museum, the Oregon Zoo, and the legendary Powell's Books.
Wednesday tours include Mt. St. Helens; the Columbia River Gorge and Mt. Hood; the Oregon Coast; and a half-day City of Portland tour including the Japanese and Chinese gardens.
Portland's mild climate should offer a break from the brutal humidity that traditionally accompanies the US Go Congress. Typical weather for this time of the year is sunny with highs in the seventies.
