Privacy Policy

Before providing your information to others, you should know why it's needed and what will be done with it. We will keep your personal information private. Any exceptions will be listed below, and/or specified when we ask for the information. Your credit card information will always be kept confidential.

Why do we need personal information?

We will ask you for some personal information that we need to run the Go Congress.

To let you in the door, we need your name so we can recognize you. We also need it, as well as your rank, city and state, to prepare your badge and to let you in to various Congress events. This information will be visible to other attendees. To run Go tournaments, we need to know who you are, as well as your rank and AGA#. All persons playing in tournaments at the Congress must be AGA members.

To provide you with a place to stay, if you request it, we need to let PSU (which runs the dorms and hotel) know who you are and when you'll arrive and depart.

To process your credit card payment, we need your name, credit card information, and billing address. This both lets us charge your card, and allows us to verify that someone isn't using a card stolen from you. If you pay online, you will be providing your credit card information directly to our credit card processor. All your personal and credit card information will be sent encrypted to a secure server. Of course, we won't need credit card information if you pay by check.

To let others know your are coming, we will display your name, rank, city, state, and registration date on the Who's Coming page, unless you request that we don't.

To communicate with you further, we need your contact information. If there is an issue with your registration, Congress updates or other news, we may need to get in touch with you. We also want to let you know about future Congresses.

How we use cookies.

When you use our site, we will set "cookies" on your browser. Cookies work like laundry claim tickets—they do not contain personal information, they only identify you as the same viewer who showed up earlier. We need this to keep everything in order when you are registering.

How we use browsing information.

When you browse on any Internet site, you provide certain information to the site automatically, including an identifier your Internet Service Provider assigned to your computer, the type of computer and browser you are using, and what pages you visited. We keep all of this information confidential, and will use it only to identify problems with our web site and to protect both you and us from fraud. For example, if someone uses a stolen credit card, the information can help law enforcement track the offender down.
